Funny how part of the reason I bought Fuji was to save on weight, but I still ended up taking all my gear with me everywhere I went. That your gear weighs less just seems to mean you bring more and then most of the time I did not use most of it anyway. This is something I have tried to pay more attention to lately and for my street photography I just bring camera plus lens. For portrait work I often stick to the same but I sometimes bring an extra lens and a reflector.
When it comes to our upcoming trip to Oslo I expect to mostly do architecture, cityscape, landscape and maybe some street photography. For architecture, landscape and cityscape I need to go from wide to medium so the XF16-55mm should do the trick. The XF10-24mm can come along as well as it is light and you can get some really cool architecture shots with it, but I suspect I won’t use it. For street photography and just for walking about I shall bring the XF35mmF2.0 as it is tiny and really merciful on my back and shoulders. I will of course bring my 3LT tripod and all my Lee Filters along with some cleaning gear, spare battery and memory cards, but that is pretty much it. To carry it all I will use my trusted LowePro Pro Tactic.
